Johannesburg MMC for Public Safety Mgcini Tshwaku has publicly called for a man known as “Innocent” to come forward and assist police investigating the murder of media personality DJ Warras.
Innocent is described as the right-hand man of the slain DJ, whose real name was Warrick Stock. According to Tshwaku, lawyers involved with the Zambezi House building—where Stock was shot on Tuesday—stated that Innocent was almost always with him, but was notably absent at the time of the attack.
Tshwaku believes Innocent can provide valuable information to clarify the events leading to the murder. Stock had reportedly received threats from individuals linked to a hijacked building prior to his death.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the shooting.
