The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has called on its members to stop treating government positions as status symbols and focus on selfless service. The message was delivered during the launch of the party’s “ANC Friday” program in Durban, part of its broader renewal campaign.
Since the party lost its majority in the province and several municipalities, it has been focused on rebuilding and reactivating grassroots activism. A deputy provincial leader emphasized that volunteers should be characterized by selflessness, not the pursuit of personal advantage.
The event forms part of the ANC’s ongoing effort to reconnect with communities and strengthen its presence ahead of future elections.
