Minister of Electricity Dr. Kgosientso Ramokgopa announced that the costs of electricity from existing plants and independent power producers (IPPs) will be made public through NERSA.
He confirmed that 2,000 MW of capacity is already secured, with 6,000 MW currently under discussion. Dr. Ramokgopa also assured the public that a safety net is in place to prevent power outages.
