The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) has called for the immediate removal of Democratic Alliance (DA) ministers from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet, accusing them of obstructing or neglecting government programmes.
In a strongly worded statement, the ANCYL claimed that DA ministers have failed to support the president’s progressive and transformative agenda, undermining efforts to address socio-economic challenges facing the majority of South Africans.
The league accused the DA of using its presence in government to advance narrow political interests rather than national priorities.
“These ministers are not aligned with the vision of a transformed and inclusive South Africa. They are either blocking or neglecting programmes meant to uplift the people. They must go,” the statement read.
The call adds to growing tensions within the Government of National Unity (GNU), where different political parties are sharing executive responsibilities. The DA has previously defended its role in government, arguing that its ministers are committed to accountability, service delivery, and clean governance.
It remains to be seen whether the ANC leadership will respond to the Youth League’s demands
