MK Party Faces Internal Dispute as Mpumalanga Caucus Complains About Mkhwebane

The MK Party is experiencing its first major internal conflict in Mpumalanga. Members of the provincial caucus have submitted a formal complaint to the party’s national leadership against prominent figure and former Public Protector, Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

According to sources within the caucus, the complaint accuses Mkhwebane of causing division, undermining collective leadership, and making key decisions without proper consultation. The specific allegations involve unilateral actions regarding strategic appointments and public statements that were not endorsed by the caucus.

Once considered a significant asset for the MK Party due to her high-profile legal history, Mkhwebane now appears to be facing isolation within her own party. Some members are concerned that her actions pose a reputational risk, particularly in the crucial Mpumalanga region.

The complaint highlights the growing pains of the newly formed party as it attempts to manage internal dynamics and strong personalities. Political analysts suggest this is a test of the party’s institutional maturity and its ability to maintain cohesion while handling internal discipline.

The MK Party’s national leadership has not yet commented publicly. The matter is expected to be discussed at the party’s upcoming National Council meeting. The outcome will be critical for Mkhwebane’s future position within the party.
