Two South African Police Service (SAPS) officers have been arrested on charges of rape and assault and are currently in custody awaiting their first court appearance.

The incident reportedly occurred when the victim was walking along Rosedale Street. The officers, traveling in an official police vehicle, allegedly picked him up before assaulting him, using pepper spray, and sexually violating him with a sharp object.

After the attack, the suspects allegedly abandoned the victim in an unfamiliar location, forcing him to find his way home. The victim later opened a case, leading to the arrest of the two officers, aged 41 and 42.

Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the alleged crimes. Investigations are ongoing, and the officers are expected to appear in court soon.

The case has raised concerns about police conduct, with calls for accountability and justice. SAPS has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

Two police officers were detained this week for allegedly raping a guy they allegedly found on the side of the road in Kariega, Nelson Mandela Bay. They allegedly did so while driving a SAPS service vehicle.
