Explosive Claim in Meyiwa Case: Teffo Alleges Khumalo Accidentally Shot Goalkeeper

A shocking new claim has reignited the Senzo Meyiwa murder investigation after controversial lawyer Malesela Teffo alleged that Longwe Twala confessed to him in prison that Kelly Khumalo accidentally shot the Bafana Bafana captain.

The bombshell allegation, circulating widely on social media, states that Twala – who was present during the 2014 incident – made the admission during a private jailhouse conversation with Teffo, who previously represented some accused in the case.

“Longwe told me Kelly pulled the trigger by mistake,” Teffo claimed, adding that “the public deserves to know.” The singer has consistently denied involvement in Meyiwa’s death.

The claim has sent South African social media into a frenzy, with #JusticeForSenzo and related hashtags trending as citizens demand answers in the decade-old case. Legal analysts caution that prison conversations aren’t admissible evidence, but acknowledge the development highlights persistent questions surrounding the investigation.

With five men currently on trial for the murder, this latest twist increases pressure on authorities to provide clarity in one of South Africa’s most high-profile unsolved cases. The National Prosecuting Authority has yet to respond to Teffo’s allegations.

Meyiwa’s family, who have endured multiple false leads over the years, now face renewed media scrutiny as the public awaits either corroboration or debunking of these explosive claims. Legal experts warn that without formal evidence or sworn testimony, Teffo’s account may remain just another unverified chapter in this protracted saga.
