The prosecution has officially closed its case in the long-running Senzo Meyiwa murder trial after presenting evidence against the five accused over three years.
Since the trial resumed in July 2023 under Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng, the State has called all its witnesses and submitted final documents to the court.
The case now moves to the defense, which will present its arguments in response to the State’s evidence.
Meyiwa, a former Bafana Bafana captain, was shot dead in 2014, and the trial has drawn significant public attention as investigators and prosecutors seek justice in the high-profile case.
The court will determine the next steps as proceedings continue.
