Kelly Khumalo Fires Back Over Senzo Meyiwa Murder Allegations: “Come Get Me If You Think I Did It”

Kelly Khumalo has hit back at ongoing public accusations linking her to Senzo Meyiwa’s murder, declaring she’s “tired of being blamed” for the footballer’s death.

In a defiant statement, the singer challenged her critics: “If you think I killed Senzo, come and get me. I’m not scared of anyone.” Her words marked a sharp pushback against years of speculation surrounding Meyiwa’s unsolved 2014 murder, where Khumalo—who was dating the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper at the time—has faced persistent suspicion.

“Until then… BACK OFF,” she added, demanding an end to what she called baseless accusations without proof. The emotional response underscores the toll of the nearly decade-long public scrutiny, which has followed her despite no formal charges ever being brought against her.

Meyiwa’s case remains one of South Africa’s most high-profile unsolved crimes, with multiple arrests but no convictions. Khumalo’s latest remarks reflect frustration with the narrative that has shadowed her life and career, as she insists on her innocence and calls for focus on evidence rather than speculation.

The singer’s challenge now leaves the ball in the court of her accusers—will they produce concrete claims, or will the cloud of suspicion finally lift? For now, Khumalo’s message is clear: she won’t be silenced.
