Norma Mngoma’s revealing interview on Showmax’s docu-series *Untied* aired on July 15 after her ex-husband, former Minister Malusi Gigaba, failed in court to stop its release. The court dismissed Gigaba’s urgent application, stating he had nearly a decade to raise objections and found no legal grounds to halt the broadcast. Gigaba was ordered to cover Showmax’s legal costs, adding to a case that only fueled public interest in the explosive interview.

In the episode, Mngoma spoke calmly but delivered shocking claims about her marriage. She described years of infidelity, manipulation, and emotional abuse. Among her allegations was that Gigaba had a pornography addiction, using government devices to store explicit content and even viewing it during official duties. She also denied involvement in the leaked sex tape linked to Gigaba, calling it another example of his attempts to control the narrative.

Mngoma portrayed Gigaba as obsessed with power and appearances, recalling extravagant overseas trips where he allegedly neglected official responsibilities for personal indulgence. She detailed a toxic and degrading relationship that ultimately became unbearable. Her testimony peeled back the polished facade of a high-profile political figure, revealing a troubling private life.

Beyond exposing Gigaba, the interview marked Mngoma’s reclaiming of her story. Now using her maiden name and building a career as a businesswoman and philanthropist, she framed her revelations not as revenge but as a demand for truth. In doing so, she confronted the culture of silence that often protects powerful men in South African politics.

Public reaction has been strong and divided. While some praise her courage, others question her motives, but the interview has undeniably sparked national debate about power, gender, and a woman’s right to speak out—without fear or legal interference.

Social Media Reactions:
– @cnehshuga: “Just finished Norma Mngoma’s episode on #UntiedShowmax. The marriage, the politics, the betrayal? It was a lot. Hearing her side was heartbreaking. She’s so calm after everything.”
– @MahlatjieTalane: “This episode with Norma Mngoma is devastating. She endured so much. #UntiedShowmax”
