Ngizwe Mchunu Warns Former MK Party SG Floyd Shivambu: “Respect the People’s Will”

Controversial media personality Ngizwe Mchunu has issued a sharp warning to Former MK Party SG Floyd Shivambu, cautioning him against “political arrogance” as South Africa’s political tensions simmer.

In a viral social media video, Mchunu—known for his outspoken style—directly challenged Shivambu, stating, “You are not bigger than the revolution. The people are watching. Choose your next move wisely.” While he didn’t specify his grievances, his remarks seemed tied to the Mayibuye iAfrica strategies and shifting alliances.

Mchunu urged Shivambu to focus on grassroots engagement and transparency, warning that failure to do so could weaken the party’s standing amid growing political divisions.

The video has stirred mixed reactions online, with some applauding Mchunu’s bluntness and others dismissing him as an unreliable commentator. Analysts suggest his message taps into wider frustrations with political elites, particularly among young and rural voters.

With critical local government decisions looming, the pressure is on Shivambu—will he heed the warning, or double down?
