Ukhozi FM listeners are in for an emotional farewell as veteran radio host Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize prepares to leave the station after 13 memorable years. Her final show will air on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, closing a chapter that began in 2012 when she first joined South Africa’s largest radio station.

Mkhize became a household name as co-host of the popular afternoon drive show Woza Nabangani Bakho alongside Tshatha Ngobe. Their chemistry and engaging content earned her the Afternoon Drive Presenter Award at the 2023 SA Radio Awards, cementing her status as one of the country’s most beloved radio personalities.

Starting as a contributor on Umnyakazo Top 20 in 2012, Mkhize’s talent quickly shone through. By 2014, she had secured a permanent role on Woza Nabangani Bakho, initially hosting on Mondays and Fridays before becoming a full-time presenter in 2015.

In her departure announcement, Mkhize reassured fans that her decision was mutual and without conflict. “Wednesday, June 18 will be my last show on Ukhozi FM. No bad blood—it’s just time. After 13 incredible years, I’m ready for a new chapter,” she said.

Lwazi Mthabela, Ukhozi FM’s business manager, praised Mkhize’s contributions, calling her an “invaluable part of the station’s success.” He highlighted her professionalism, award-winning work, and the deep connection she built with listeners. “We’re proud of her growth and fully support her as she takes this next step,” Mthabela added.

While Mkhize has not yet revealed her future plans, her legacy at Ukhozi FM remains undeniable. Her departure leaves big shoes to fill, and fans—as well as the broader radio industry—will be watching closely to see where her vibrant career takes her next.
