Media personality and sports anchor Mpho Maboi has once again captured public attention—this time, not for breaking news but for showcasing a high-performance luxury vehicle.

The stylish broadcaster, who was previously married to Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane, recently went viral after sharing photos posing beside the Mercedes-Benz G 580 EQ Edition One—an all-electric version of the iconic G-Class SUV, priced at a staggering R4.6 million.

The images, taken at a Mercedes-Benz promotional event featuring celebrities like Grammy winner Zakes Bantwini, showcased Maboi alongside the sleek, matte-finished SUV. The post quickly gained traction, drawing thousands of likes and shares as car enthusiasts marveled at the vehicle’s specs.

The electric G-Class boasts a top speed of 180 km/h, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, and offers a range of 473 km on a single charge.

This isn’t the first time Maboi has made waves with luxury cars. Last year, she sparked similar buzz when she flaunted a Jaguar F-Type worth over R2.5 million, reinforcing her reputation as a car enthusiast with a taste for high-end performance vehicles.

However, her displays of luxury have occasionally drawn mixed reactions. Some social media users questioned the timing of her Jaguar post, which coincided with reports of Letsholonyane’s alleged financial struggles. Still, Maboi has remained unapologetic about her success, consistently showcasing her love for fashion, fast cars, and an independent lifestyle.

As one of South Africa’s prominent women in sports media, Maboi continues to balance elegance with boldness.

“Unapologetic. Stylish. Self-made. We see you,” wrote one fan on social media.

Whether behind the microphone or the wheel of a luxury car, Mpho Maboi knows how to stay in the spotlight—on her own terms.
