Suspended ANC MP Vows Retribution: “I’ll Do More Damage Than Zuma”

The ANC in Limpopo has suspended former MP Boy Mamabolo following inflammatory social media posts targeting party members, including the late Matthews Malebana and former MEC Onnica Kwakwa. The decision, announced by ANC provincial spokesperson Jimmy Machaka, comes after the Provincial Working Committee found Mamabolo’s conduct brought the party into disrepute.

But the embattled politician has fired back with a warning that could send shockwaves through the ruling party. “They’re killing the ANC and one day they’ll regret this decision,” Mamabolo told reporters. “I’ll do more damage than Jacob Zuma did.”

The suspended MP’s defiant threat has ignited fierce debate across political circles, with some dismissing it as sour grapes while others see it as a sign of deepening fractures within the ANC. His reference to Zuma – whose departure from the ANC birthed the rival MK Party – suggests potential for another destabilizing split.

The ANC Youth League in Limpopo has endorsed the suspension as necessary for maintaining party discipline. However, political analysts warn Mamabolo’s combative stance and loyal following could make him a rallying point for discontented members.

As the disciplinary process unfolds, all eyes remain on Mamabolo’s next moves. With South Africa’s political landscape already volatile, his promise of retaliation could test the ANC’s unity at a time when it can least afford another internal revolt. The suspension that began as a disciplinary measure may well become the catalyst for a much larger confrontation.
