Former ANC KwaZulu-Natal Secretary General Bheki Mtolo has expressed his support for the recent restructuring of the provincial executive committee (PEC), emphasizing his commitment to the decision made by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Mtolo acknowledged the NEC’s authority in making such changes, citing the ANC’s constitution. “The National Executive Committee has the mandate to direct and instruct lower structures, as outlined in Rule 12 of the ANC constitution. Once a decision is made, Rule 19 ensures it must be implemented. If you are in the PEC and fail to grasp this, you were never meant to be there in the first place,” he stated.

Mtolo appeared alongside Zizi Kodwa, the convener of NEC deployees to KZN, at Seme House, the ANC’s provincial headquarters, for a meeting on the reconfigured PEC structure.

Journalist Siphamandla Goge reported that the new leadership lineup includes Jeff Radebe as convener, Siboniso Duma as deputy convener, and Mike Mabuyakhulu as coordinator.

The restructuring follows recent political shifts within the ANC in KZN, as the party works to solidify its leadership and strategy ahead of upcoming political challenges. These developments have generated significant interest, with members keenly observing how the changes will impact the province’s political trajectory.
