Former South African President Jacob Zuma has issued an ultimatum to the African National Congress (ANC), threatening to file a lawsuit if the party does not reinstate his membership by the end of January 2025.
In his statement, Zuma reiterated his unwavering loyalty to the ANC, describing it as the only political organization he truly loves. He referred to the Msholozi People’s Party (MKP), which he currently associates with, as merely a “vehicle to drive his boredom.”
Additionally, Zuma has called for Tony Yengeni, a fellow ANC veteran, to be granted the freedom to criticize and, if necessary, insult ANC members without facing repercussions from the party.
This bold demand adds another layer of complexity to Zuma’s already contentious relationship with the ANC leadership. Whether the party will comply with his ultimatum remains to be seen.
