Ndlozi’s Silence Amid Shivambu’s Exit Sparks Rumors of Rift in EFF Leadership

Ndlozi’s Silence on Shivambu’s Exit Fuels Speculation of Internal EFF Tensions

The sudden departure of Floyd Shivambu, former Deputy President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, raising questions about the unity of the party and its leadership. Adding to the speculation is the silence of Commissar Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, whose lack of public response has reportedly strained his relationship with EFF leader Julius Malema, according to sources within the party.

Shivambu’s unexpected resignation last week stunned EFF members and supporters alike, prompting concerns about the party’s cohesion. Ndlozi, long regarded as a prominent figure within the movement, has remained notably quiet, fueling rumors that he may also be contemplating an exit. Many had anticipated a public display of solidarity or reassurance from Ndlozi, but his silence has instead deepened suspicions of growing fractures within the party’s leadership.

Sources close to the EFF leadership suggest that Malema views Ndlozi’s silence as a subtle challenge to his authority. “Julius expects unwavering loyalty, especially during moments of crisis,” an insider revealed. “Ndlozi’s lack of support sends the wrong signal to both the party and the public.”

Once considered close allies, Malema and Ndlozi’s relationship has reportedly cooled over the years, strained by ideological differences and Ndlozi’s perceived detachment from the party’s central leadership. The current speculation about Ndlozi’s future has only added to the tension, creating uncertainty within the EFF at a critical juncture.

Political analysts warn that Shivambu’s resignation, coupled with the potential departure of other senior figures, could harm the EFF’s reputation as a united and disciplined political force. The party’s refusal to comment publicly on the matter has only fueled further speculation, leaving supporters and critics alike to question its stability.

With the 2024 elections on the horizon, these internal divisions threaten to overshadow the EFF’s campaign and test Malema’s ability to maintain order within the party. Ndlozi’s next move is likely to be pivotal, not only for his political career but also for the EFF’s trajectory as it navigates an increasingly turbulent political landscape.
