The MK Party has revealed that a seat at former President Jacob Zuma’s table for their upcoming gala dinner has been sold for an impressive R2 million. The announcement was made on Wednesday by MK Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu, highlighting the high demand for the exclusive event.

The gala dinner will take place on Sunday evening in Durban, following the party’s first anniversary rally at Moses Mabhida Stadium. The celebration marks a milestone for the MK Party, which was founded by Zuma in December 2023 and has quickly risen to prominence.

In just a year, the party has established itself as South Africa’s third-largest political organization and the official opposition in Parliament. Its dominance in KwaZulu-Natal, where it secured a majority in the province during the May general elections, has been a cornerstone of its rapid success.

Shivambu emphasized the party’s focus on engaging its provincial stronghold for the event. “We have made arrangements to transport attendees from all 11 regions of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as from 44 municipalities,” he said. To ensure accessibility, complimentary train services will be provided from kwaMashu, Cato Ridge, and uMlazi.

The gala dinner, featuring prominent political figures and supporters, underscores the MK Party’s growing influence and the significant support it enjoys in its home province. As anticipation builds, the R2 million seat at Zuma’s table serves as a symbol of the party’s ability to attract high-profile interest and financial backing.
