EFF in Turmoil: Marshall Dlamini Faces Pressure Over Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s Suspension

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) find themselves at a crossroads as Secretary-General Marshall Dlamini comes under mounting pressure to address the controversial suspension of Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, a prominent party leader. Supporters of Ndlozi, known for his charisma and influence, are demanding transparency and clarity about the decision, which has sent shockwaves through the party’s ranks.

The situation escalated after the EFF’s National Executive Committee (NEC) reportedly suspended Ndlozi, though the reasons remain undisclosed. Speculation is rife, with some insiders attributing the move to internal disputes over Ndlozi’s outspoken views on leadership decisions, while others point to personal tensions between him and top officials, including Dlamini.

The lack of a public explanation has fueled discontent among Ndlozi’s supporters, who view the suspension as a potential deviation from the party’s principles of accountability and internal democracy. A letter penned by a group of these supporters, now circulating on social media, calls on Dlamini to disclose the rationale behind the decision. They argue that without transparency, the suspension risks being perceived as politically motivated and arbitrary, threatening to undermine the EFF’s unity and credibility.

Ndlozi, a former EFF spokesperson and current Member of Parliament, has yet to comment on the suspension. His silence has sparked further speculation about his next steps—whether he will challenge the decision or seek resolution through the party’s internal mechanisms.

Dlamini, a pivotal figure in the party’s administration, is under increasing scrutiny as the situation develops. Supporters of Ndlozi have stressed that the EFF’s founding values demand open dialogue and accountability, particularly in matters with the potential to divide the party.

The unfolding crisis poses a significant test for the EFF, known for its uncompromising advocacy of economic freedom and social justice. The party must now navigate these internal divisions carefully, as the handling of Ndlozi’s suspension could have far-reaching implications for its cohesion and political future.

With Dlamini’s position appearing increasingly precarious, and calls for answers growing louder, all eyes are on the EFF leadership to see how it will weather this storm and address the concerns of its supporters.
