  • South African actress Keamogetswe Leburu stars as Bontle on the popular drama *Skeem Saam* and is known for her versatile talents in singing, rapping, and dance.
  • Born in Kagiso, Leburu overcame early hardships after losing both parents in her childhood, being raised by her grandparents.
  • She nurtured her passion for the arts at the Market Theater Laboratory, with earlier schooling at Bosele Primary and Mosupatsela High.

Keamogetswe Trudy Leburu, born on February 10, 1995, in Kagiso, west of Johannesburg, has become a beloved face on South African television, portraying Bontle in Skeem Saam, an SABC 1 serial drama. In addition to acting, Keamogetswe is a skilled singer, rapper, and dancer. She’s no stranger to the small screen, with appearances on shows like Rhythm City and Intersexions.

Leburu’s journey has been marked by resilience. Tragically, she lost her mother in 2004 and her father a year later. Raised by her grandparents, Kea learned independence early and now lives in Johannesburg, pursuing her career.

Her love for performing arts was matched by her athletic side—she started playing netball at Bosele Primary School and completed her studies at Mosupatsela High School. With a lifelong dream of acting, Keamogetswe attended the prestigious Market Theater Laboratory, where she refined her craft and pursued a career in stage and television. Her passion and hard work have earned her a special place in South Africa’s entertainment industry, inspiring fans with both her talent and personal strength.
