In an unexpected twist, Siya Kolisi, South Africa’s beloved rugby captain, has revealed a surprising detail about the beginning of his relationship with his wife, Rachel. In his autobiography, Rise, Kolisi admits that he first pursued Rachel while he was still involved with another woman—a revelation he shared just as the couple announced their divorce on social media, leaving fans both surprised and saddened.

Kolisi recounts in his book how he reached out to Rachel through social media, sparking a romance that would lead to their high-profile marriage. “I knew I had to take the chance,” he wrote, referring to the moment that would change his life. This openness, however, has stirred discussions among fans, some questioning the foundation of the relationship while others understand the complexities of love and personal growth.

The timing of Kolisi’s disclosure has led many to reexamine their view of the couple’s journey. While some fans expressed disappointment, seeing their once fairytale-like romance through a different lens, others defended Kolisi, recognizing that relationships—particularly in the public eye—can be layered and difficult.

Kolisi’s honesty offers a window into the challenges public figures often face in their personal lives. As the couple’s divorce unfolds, Kolisi’s reflections on his past provide a reminder that love is rarely simple. Fans are now left hoping for healing and growth for both Siya and Rachel as they embrace this new chapter in their lives.
