Siyanda Mhlongo, a prominent lobbyist in KwaDukuza and former member of COPE, has strongly criticized the ANC for launching an investigation into Lindiwe Nhaca, the party’s city chair. Mhlongo, now an influential figure in local politics, argues that the investigation is driven by internal ANC political maneuvering rather than addressing the real needs of the KwaDukuza community.

“This review isn’t about serving the people of KwaDukuza,” Mhlongo told local media, expressing frustration at the ANC’s decision. He pointed to the factionalism and conflicting political interests within the party, which, he claimed, are hindering effective governance. “Our community is suffering from poor service delivery, yet the ANC seems more focused on internal power struggles than solving the real issues.”

Mhlongo’s comments come amid growing dissatisfaction in KwaDukuza over service delivery failures, infrastructure problems, and economic challenges. Many residents had placed their hopes in Nhaca’s leadership to address these pressing concerns, but her sudden removal has left the community questioning the ANC’s commitment to resolving local issues.

The political climate in KwaDukuza has become increasingly tense, with the investigation into Nhaca exacerbating the internal divisions within the ANC. Mhlongo and other observers believe that the decision to review Nhaca’s leadership has only deepened the uncertainty in the region, leaving residents without a clear path forward.

NEWS: Former Cope member turned KwaDukuza activist Siyanda Mhlongo has slammed the ANC for its decision to recall the Mayor of KwaDukuza Lindiwe Nhaca.

Mhlongo says the decision has nothing to do with the people of KwaDukuza and their issues.

But it has to do with some ANC…

Since leaving COPE, Mhlongo has become a respected lobbyist and is now rallying KwaDukuza residents to demand greater accountability from the ruling party. “The people deserve leaders who prioritize their needs, not politicians focused on personal battles,” he said. “We want solutions, not more political turmoil.”

As the ANC prepares to select Nhaca’s replacement, tensions are expected to rise further. The community is watching closely to see if the new leadership will effectively address their concerns and bring stability to KwaDukuza, while also navigating the complex dynamics within the ANC.
