Kgalema Motlanthe Unveils the Impact of Putin on South Africa—‘He Won’t Come’

His Excellency Kgalema Motlanthe has stated that the South African government is not seeking the imprisonment of Vladimir Putin. Given the current situation, he doubted that Russian President Vladimir Putin would visit South Africa. Thabo Mbeki, the former president of the African National Congress, has said that South Africans should stay out of politics for the time being.

According to him, the Russian leader would face imprisonment if he attended the BRICS gathering in August as South Africa is a signatory to the Rome Statute. Nonetheless, he is cognizant of the fact that Putin will not leave. Many have warned Trump to watch his language now that he is not president, and his comments have gone viral online.

Their message was clear: he should let the current president, Cyril Ramaphosa, handle such delicate issues. Someone on Twitter was worried that Kgalema Motlanthe’s comments would cause friction in the community. Even though Cyril Ramaphosa is the party’s and republic’s president, she insisted that Kgalema Motlanthe acknowledge his authority.

He lacks the authority to comment on the @IntlCrimCourt’s arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. His remarks have brought the country’s position on the issue into sharp focus. Similar to what another Twitter user said, certain ex-presidents should be careful with their words.

Averting answering every question posed by the media was his warning. The significance of the former president’s comments was emphasized by a second commentator. I think he should just say what’s on his mind instead of bringing it up. There has been a lot of talk and debate about Putin’s incarceration. The administration of President Cyril Ramaphosa has decided to ignore Kgalema Motlanthe’s concerns, despite her voiced concerns.
