Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), announced that the EFF will not participate in the Government of National Unity (GNU) due to its opposition to the inclusion of the Democratic Alliance (DA) and other right-wing parties funded by the Oppenheimer family.
The EFF has been engaging with various political parties to form a stable government following the 2024 General Elections, which did not produce an outright winner.
Malema also met with the President of the African National Congress (ANC), Cyril Ramaphosa, expressing the EFF’s stance against the GNU and its preference for the MK Party to lead KwaZulu-Natal, where it received the most votes.
