Many people have expressed their condolences on the passing of the former mayor of KwaZulu-Natal.
The Mayor of Mhlathuze, Mr Xolani Ngwezi, issued a statement expressing his sadness at the passing away of Mr Zakhele Mnqayi (pictured) who was the mayor of this municipality since 2007 – on the ANC ticket – before he went to work in the Office of the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal.
Mnqayi who died in hospital last Thursday – after being admitted there due to a car accident – was the deputy director in the prime minister’s office.
Ngwezi said there is a lot to remember about Mnqayi. He mentioned his role in serving the community with hard work and dedication to the tasks he was assigned from the Mhlathuze Municipality to the provincial level. He said they are saddened by the passing of Mnqayi.
