abulani Khumalo, founder of the uMkhonto we Sizwe Party (MK Party), appeared at the Johannesburg High Court to challenge the Electoral Commission’s decision to name former President Jacob Zuma as the party leader.
Khumalo alleges that Zuma’s daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, forged a resignation letter submitted to the IEC. The proceedings have been marked by heated exchanges and public demonstrations, with Khumalo being attacked by MK supporters outside the court.
The court has yet to make a final ruling on the matter.
