Targeted crime prevention operations were carried out by members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in cooperation with local Wardens, with the aim of improving safety and decreasing criminal activity in the Primrose area. As a result of these proactive actions, multiple people engaged in criminal activity were apprehended.
In the course of one such operation, SAPS officers and the Wardens apprehended four suspects who were discovered to be in possession of illicit drugs.
On the same day, in a different incident, police detained a second suspect after discovering that he had a box full of bank cards. The suspects were arrested because they were unable to give a convincing explanation for why they had the bank cards.
The accomplishment of these operations is evidence of the efficient cooperation between the local Wardens and the SAPS. Not only have these arrests been made possible by their combined efforts, but the Primrose community now feels even more secure.
Residents are still being urged by the SAPS and Wardens to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity because community involvement is essential in the fight against crime.
