In a shocking incident on 21 February 2024, Nomasonto Felicity Modzanane, a 50-year-old employee at the Randfontein Magistrate Court, was fatally struck by a car as she left her workplace. The tragic event occurred in Randfontein, a town located in the Gauteng province of South Africa.

Reports suggest that Modzanane was leaving the court premises when a man driving a car allegedly hit her and fled the scene. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but tragically, Modzanane succumbed to her injuries before she could receive medical attention.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear, and authorities are actively investigating the case. The Randfontein Magistrate Court, where Modzanane worked, has expressed shock and sadness over the loss of their colleague. Colleagues described her as a dedicated and hardworking employee who was well-respected by her peers.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing outrage over the senseless act of violence. Calls for justice for Modzanane are growing, with community members urging the authorities to apprehend the perpetrator swiftly.

As investigations continue, the family, friends, and colleagues of Nomasonto Felicity Modzanane are left to mourn her untimely death. The tragic loss of such a valued member of the community serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need to address reckless driving behaviors.

The Randfontein Magistrate Court has announced plans to honor Modzanane’s memory and support her family during this difficult time.
