The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has been getting attention from every media house in the country and so many from around the world, people want to know what really happened on the day the former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper and captain was shot and killed while he and his friends were visiting his then girlfriend Kelly Khumalo at her mother’s house in Vorsloorus, it is alleged that two intruders barged and started demanding cellphones and money from those who were in the house, a scuffle allegedly ensued between Meyiwa and the intruder who had a gun, a shot went off and the soccer star was fatally wounded and was certified dead after his arrival at Botshelong Medical Centre.

The trail has been going on for a couple of years and it moved to a trail-within-a-trial after it the North Gauteng High Court presided by Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng established that there is a confession by one of the five accused, the defense argued that the accused number one Bongani Ntanzi made that confession because he feared for his life since he was assaulted, however, those he alleges they are the ones who assaulted him have given their version of the incident, now that closing arguments has been finalized, all eyes will be on Judge Ratha on Thursday as he makes the ruling on the admissibility of the confession.

Mokhoatlheng will make his ruling on Thursday and this is what will happen if he feels the confession is admissible:

1. THE TRIAL WILL END QUICKER THAN EXPECT: This will save the court time and the state resources will not be wasted since it will mean the person who killed Meyiwa is now known and the only thing left will be the sentencing.

2. KELLY KHUMALO COULD BE IN TROUBLE: There are many theories surrounding the death of Meyiwa with some believing that Kelly actually orchestrated the murder, cellphone records shows that she was in contact with some of the accused before the killing, if the court decides that the confession is admissible, she will automatically become accused number one on the murder and will have to stand trial with immediate effect based on Brigadier Gininda’s testimony.

It is going to be a long day for judge Ratha, Kelly’s fate could be decided today when it comes to the death of the Kwa-Zulu Natal born soccer star, all eyes will be on him and everyone will be listening attentively to find out how it is going to end.
