Ukhozi FM DJ Bheka Beekay Mchunu has passed away on Tuesday night after he was admitted in hospital for short sickness.

Source close to the family has confirmed to iReport South Africa that Bheka Mchunu has died. In October 2022 Mchunu caused a scare and anxiety amongst listeners and colleagues when he abruptly ended his show. that was taking him in and out on Radio due to shortness of breath.

The seasoned broadcaster suffered what was called “unbearable pain in his throat” while on air presenting his popular Saturday maskandi show Sgiya Ngengoma.

In the middle of the show, he suddenly fainted. Producers were forced to play music, leaving listeners confused. He was rescued by the guests who rushed to call for medical assistance.

Rest in peace Bheka Mchunu and condolences to the family.
