Ten months following the tragic shooting that claimed the lives of four Bulgarian nationals in Constantia, authorities have made a breakthrough in the case. The incident, which occurred on May 25 on Evergreen Lane, resulted in the discovery of the bodies of two women and two men, all with fatal gunshot wounds.
Initially shrouded in mystery, with the motive remaining unclear, the case has seen a recent development. The Western Cape Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit has identified two individuals of interest believed to have been involved in the killings. The public’s assistance is now being sought to trace these suspects.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana revealed that the two suspects were spotted driving a white VW Golf GTI, matching the vehicle seen at the murder site. It is reported that six suspects were observed fleeing the scene in a blue Hyundai and the aforementioned Golf GTI.
In response to the latest development, Police Oversight and Community Safety MEC Reagen Allen urged cooperation from the public, emphasizing the urgency of bringing the suspects to justice. He encouraged the individuals in question to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Despite the shocking nature of the incident, Ward 62 councillor Emile Langenhoven reassured residents that such occurrences were rare in the suburb and had no lasting impact on the area’s crime rate. Anyone with information or knowledge of the whereabouts of the suspects is urged to contact the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit.
