In a shocking incident that happened some days ago, 52-year-old Maphuthi Tswai met a gruesome fate near the Pan African Shopping Center in Alexandra, Johannesburg. The tragedy unfolded when she was allegedly driven over and stabbed to death by a taxi driver.

The incident started when Maphuthi, on her way home, had a close encounter with a taxi while crossing the road near the shopping center. An argument ensued between her and the taxi driver, leading to an escalating dispute. The situation took a sinister turn when the driver allegedly instructed his passenger to exit the vehicle.

Once everyone was out of the car, the taxi driver reportedly accelerated directly into Maphuthi. Shockingly, he then exited the vehicle and continued the assault by stabbing her, leaving witnesses at the scene horrified. Onlookers desperately tried to intervene, screaming for help and alerting the authorities as the brutal attack unfolded.

Maphuthi’s life was tragically cut short in this senseless act of violence. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the community is left grappling with the shock of such a heinous incident on their doorstep. The Incident happened on the 1st of February 2024.

Maphuthi Tswai, a 52-year-old woman, leaves behind a grieving family, including three children and six grandchildren. The loss of a loved one in such a brutal manner has undoubtedly left a void that can never be filled. The community now seeks justice for Maphuthi and is calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.

The local authorities have been alerted, and an investigation is underway to apprehend the alleged perpetrator. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of pedestrians and the need for increased vigilance on the roads.

As the community mourns the loss of Maphuthi Tswai, there is a collective call for justice and a reevaluation of safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The shocking nature of this incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fostering a safe environment for all members of society, both on the roads and in the community at large.
