President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to deliver his 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA) on February 8, 2024 at the historic Cape Town City Hall. The event is scheduled to commence at 7 PM and will be presented to a Joint Sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces.

The choice of Cape Town City Hall as the venue adds a touch of historical significance to the occasion as this iconic building has witnessed key moments in South Africa history. It will serve as the backdrop for the President’s reflections on the accomplishments and challenges of the 6th administration.

This upcoming address holds particular importance as it signifies the culmination of the current administration term. President Ramaphosa’s final SONA for the 6th administration is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the government’s achievements, policy initiatives and the state of the nation during his tenure.

The SONA serves as a platform for the President to outline the government vision and priorities for the future. It offers insights into the strategic direction that South Africa will take in the coming years influencing policy discussions and public discourse.

The Joint Sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces underscores the unity and collaborative spirit needed to address the complex issues facing the nation. It provides an opportunity for parliamentarians from both houses to engage with the President proposals and contribute to shaping the country trajectory.

As the nation awaits this significant address, there is a palpable sense of anticipation regarding the President’s announcements and the unveiling of plans that will guide South Africa into the next chapter. President Cyril Ramaphosa final State of the Nation Address is poised to be a pivotal moment, reflecting on the past while setting the stage for the future of the nation.
