THE president of Amabhinca, Ngizwe Mchunu, was allegedly attacked during a media briefing.

But for someone who has told EFF president Julius Malema that he will enter the Moses Mabhida Stadium over his dead body, it’s surprising to see him allegedly being attacked and running away.

As the former Ukhozi FM presenter was busy talking in the briefing, four men entered the room and hit the phone he was using placed on a table in front of him.

The men also threw the chairs.

The people inside the room who attended the briefing were seen running away during this chaos.

It’s still not clear where the briefing was held and who were the men who stormed the room.

On Tuesday, 23 January, Ngizwe was supposed to hold a media briefing at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban at 10am.

The briefing’s invitation stated that Ngizwe would give a decisive resolution on the status of the programme which will take place on 10 February at Moses Mabhida.

Social media users questioned the attack and alleged that it was staged based on the events captured on the video.

This is the date that the EFF will hold its 2024 election manifesto rally.

But when journalists arrived at Moses Mabhida, they were told by the security guards that Ngizwe hadn’t booked the venue for a briefing.

The guards said they were instructed to inform everyone who had come to the briefing that it would not take place at Moses Mabhida because bookings were not made.

When Daily Sun called Ngizwe and asked him about the briefing and what would happen moving forward, he said: “The briefing has been moved to 3.30pm at the same venue. The briefing will definitely take place. You can even call me later to confirm that.”

Later on, the same day, Ngizwe was live on Facebook, where he first apologised for the delay.

He went on to say he experienced challenges regarding the Moses Mabhida venue.

Ngizwe said he couldn’t explain the challenges because they were related to the challenges faced by the country.

He then talked about the fact that he represents the poor people.

The video then stops. After a few hours, another video emerged on his page where he is seen being attacked.

Daily Sun called Ngizwe again, but he neither answered his phone nor did he respond to a WhatsApp message that was sent to him.

In December 2024, a video of Ngizwe was trending on social media where he said he was the border gate of KZN and that if Malema wanted to come to KZN, he should speak to him.

In the video, Ngizwe was heard saying that if Malema wants Zulus, he should speak to him first.
