Ex-Chiefs star who is living in poverty looks unrecognizable after retirement

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Emile Baron who has fallen from riches to rags has kept a low profile after his retirement from football.

However, this week, a rare recent video has surfaced on social media of the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper who was forced to retire after sustaining a career ending injury and he looks unrecognizable after hanging up his soccer boots.

What’s the story?

This week, a now viral video has surfaced on Facebook where former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Emile Baron who is now living in destitute conditions after losing his worldly possessions revealed during his latest interview with Robert Marawa that he has not received the R2 million that was raised by his former club Lillestrom SK supporters in Norway.

From the shared video on the popular platform, the former Kaizer Chiefs jersey number 30 who is homeless and who is not “living quality life” now looks unrecognizable as he has lost tones of weight after calling it time to his football career.

Did you know?

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Emile Baron who became synonymous with the jersey number 30 during his four year spell at the club between 2005 and 2009 donned two different jersey numbers during his playing days at Lillestrom SK and during his playing days at now defunct Bidvest Wits.

According to his player profile on German website 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, the 44 year old Ocean View born footballer donned the jersey number 12 during his six year spell at Lillestrom SK between 1999 and 2005.

In addition, the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper also donned the jersey number 16 during his two year spell at now defunct Bidvest Wits between 2011 and 2013 before announcing his retirement from football.
