RIP: Former eTV and SABC Sports Presenter was killed in a hijacking incident

South African Police Service members are investigating a case of murder after Jeffrey Zikhali was shot and killed by unknown suspects.

On Friday evening, 1 December 2023, Zikhali was driving from Mpangeni to his ancestral home in Dlangezwa when he was ambulance by armed suspects who wanted to hijack his car, multiple shots were fired and Zikhali was wounded.

Police officers and paramedics responded to the scene and upon their arrival, Zikhali was certified dead. A case of murder was opened and a manhunt for the suspects was launched.

Zikhale is a former Sports Presenter of eTV and SABC, he was employed as the government communicator in KwaZulu-Natal Province, his death is mourned by his family, friends, colleagues and many of his supporters.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects should contact the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or report at the police station.
