South African media actress Sonia Mbele appears to be loving life in the spotlight again and is always trending these days. A new video of the former Generations star explaining how various deals and endorsements saw her becoming a multi-millionaire in her early 20s has gone viral online.
This comes only a couple of weeks after she made headlines for allegedly fighting in a popular Johannesburg night club.
SA mocks Sonia Mbele after she claims she was a multimillionaire in her 20s
Seasoned TV and radio personality Sonia Mbele is undoubtedly one of the few recognisable faces in South Africa.
She made quite an impact while starring in Generations as Ntombi Khumalo.
When that role came to an end, she went on to be the executive producer for Real Housewives of Johannesburg.
Unfortunately, legal trouble with the South African Revenue Service quickly started following her.
And now she is trending after a video of her explaining how she made her first few millions in her 20s has gone viral.
“I was a multi-millionaire in my 20s. I was the first face of Dark n Lovely, the first face of Lux, the first face of Ponds, the first face of Sun Silk and the first face of City Power. I had 90 TV commercials locally and internationally. I became a millionaire in my 20s.
“I bought myself my first Louis Vuitton bag, so you must understand that I trained myself into a lifestyle. I gave myself a lifestyle,” she can be heard saying.

What does Mzansi think?
In the comment section, many congratulated her on being a self-made successful woman. Others however mocked her over her tax evasion case.
“SARS looking @ their files if she was paying tax in her 20s,” one person said while another wrote:
“She secured the bag early when working hard for your money was still a thing.”
