In a surprising turn of events, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma, recently took to Twitter to express her discontent with current President Cyril Ramaphosa’s handling of the BRICS 2023 summit. The controversial remarks have sparked a heated debate and drawn criticism from fellow users on the platform.

The BRICS 2023 summit, hosted by President Ramaphosa, aimed to bring together the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa to discuss various global economic and political issues. However, Zuma-Sambudla’s tweet seemed to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the summit, suggesting that the “real BRICS summit” would be hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the following year.

Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have all been invited to become members of BRICS, said South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who hosted a three-day summit of the emerging markets group in Johannesburg this week. Their membership will take effect January 1, 2024.

Zuma-Sambudla’s tweet, which read, “Now That The CIA Summit Hosted By The Clown Is Done…President Putin Will Be Hosting The Real BRICS SUMMIT Next Year. Cdes And Fighters President Putin Usimemile,” drew immediate attention and sparked both support and backlash from social media users.

While some users echoed her sentiments and shared their own frustrations with President Ramaphosa’s leadership, a significant portion of Twitter users condemned Zuma-Sambudla’s language and tone, characterizing her comments as disrespectful and inappropriate. Many pointed out that her use of derogatory terms to describe President Ramaphosa was not conducive to healthy political discourse.

Responses to Zuma-Sambudla’s tweet included accusations that her remarks were indicative of potential mental instability. Several users criticized her for resorting to name-calling. Here are the reactions from tweeps:
