The on-going Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has kept many South Africans glued to their television sets and their computers as they live stream the proceedings from the North Gauteng High Court, five men accused of murdering the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper and captain are being tried under judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng as they try to get to the bottom of who exactly played part in the killing of the soccer star, he was gunned down on the 26th of October 2014 at the Khumalo house in Vosloorus where he was visiting his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo.

A couple of witnesses have already testified at the court and the latest witness who testified on Monday revealed that he knew the accused and he was his tenant by the time he was arrested, speaking through a interpreter, Chopane Lesley Kgaphola has told the court that he knew Mncube and he also confirmed that he was wearing dreadlocks when he came to his property looking for a place to rent with his lover, he spoke without any doubt that it was indeed accused number 3 whom he also confirmed that he is inside the court room.

“It’s a fact that when I met accused 3, he had dreadlocks and I can see it’s him,” Kgopola said.

As he continued to give his testimony, accused number 3 raised his hand while the witness was confirming that he knows him, the judge refused to let him speak saying that is not how things are done in court, however, Kgapola also added that the person who just raised his hand was the one who came to his property looking for a place to rent together with the other person who is lady.

Yes its the person who just lifted his hand. I didn’t know him them. When I learnt I was to testify in court I learnt it was Mr Mncube, (Accused number 3),” he added.

Another witness who has also confirmed that Mncube had dreadlocks is his girlfriend Kagiso Tefo whom he was with on the day he was arrested, they were renting at Kgapola’s property when he was arrested, she also narrated to the court how he was arrested.
