Orlando Pirates Set to Offer Star Player New Deal

Because of his outstanding performance last year, Orlando Pirates are considering extending the contract of one of their standout players.

Last year, under new head coach Jose Riveiro, Sandile Mthethwa broke through for the Pirates after spending the majority of his time there on loan.

The 26-year-old forward was on loan with teams like Chippa United and Richards Bay for the majority of his career, and he finally got some consistent playing time there before coming back to his parent club before the start of last season.

Since then, he has played in several pivotal games for the Buccaneers, earning the trust of the team’s Spanish head coach and earning a contract extension for the remainder of the season.

The 26-year-old centre back made his debut with the Buccaneers last season, and the club appears eager to keep him on a long-term contract.

The Buccaneers, it has been reported, see a bright future in the 26-year-old, thus they want to sign him to a long-term contract.

The source also said that negotiations are ongoing, and that time is of the essence because the player’s contract with the club is slated to end in June of 2024, and the organisation wants to make sure that the player continues with the club.

The Buccaneers have a long-term plan for the 26-year-old player, and according to the source, the club has presented a three-year deal with an option to extend by an additional year, which could keep the player with the club until 2028.

Even though Olisa Ndah’s departure is possible, the club isn’t panicking because they know Mthethwa can step in and play the same role, according to the source.
