Former Kaizer Chiefs star, Jabu Mahlangu, formerly known as Jabu Pule, is facing an agonizing situation as his R1.1 million home in Brakpan, east of Johannesburg, is on the brink of being repossessed and auctioned off.

Concerned associates, who remain anonymous, are now calling on Good Samaritans to rally together and save Jabu Mahlangu’s cherished home from this unfortunate fate. Additionally, they are imploring football clubs to provide him with a job opportunity to help him overcome his financial struggles.

Jabu Mahlangu’s associates reveal that he has been grappling with financial difficulties since losing his job as an analyst at Supersport. The distressing situation escalated when lawyers from Absa, a prominent financial institution, sent him a summons stating their intention to apply for a court order to attach and execute his property. If this order is obtained, Jabu Mahlangu, his wife Nomxolisi, and their children will be forcibly evicted from their homes, stripping them of their dignity and stability.

According to the summons, Absa and Absa Home Loans Guarantee had granted Jabu Mahlangu and his wife a loan exceeding R700,000 to purchase the property in Brakpan back in 2016. In addition to the principal amount, an extra R134,000 was provided to cover other associated expenses.

The loan was supposed to be repaid through monthly installments of over R7,000 for 240 months. However, due to multiple repo rate increases by the Reserve Bank, the installment amount has ballooned to over R9,000, exacerbating Jabu Mahlangu’s financial burden.

Heartbroken by the potential loss of Jabu Mahlangu’s home, his associates fervently appeal to Samaritans to come forward and contribute to the effort to save the property.

They stress that Jabu Mahlangu has made significant contributions to the development and growth of football in South Africa, and witnessing his dignity being compromised in this manner is truly disheartening. Moreover, they urge football clubs to offer him a job opportunity, allowing him to earn a living and secure his property’s future.

The distressing plight of Jabu Mahlangu, a former football star, serves as a reminder of how even renowned individuals can face financial hardships. The looming repossession of his R1.1 million home emphasizes the urgent need for support from compassionate individuals and football clubs alike.

By rallying together, it is possible to make a difference in Jabu Mahlangu’s life and help him overcome this challenging situation. Saving his home would not only provide stability for his family but also serve as a testament to the power of unity and compassion within society.
