According to an observation made by political analyst Laleti Mathabatha, there are active efforts being made to prevent Paul Mashatile from returning to his position as Deputy in the second term of Cyril Ramaphosa’s presidency. According to the analyst, a number of different media outlets are working together to smear the reputation of the ANC vice president.

Mathabatha has also come out to ask why several media platforms just suddenly realized that Mashatile’s lifestyle is bad. She said they want Mashatile gone because they consider him as a danger to Ramaphosa and a prospective successor. Another person noted that News24’s report on Mashatile proves they are against him. He claimed there are too many people opposing Mashatile, and he is worried that the deputy president might not survive their onslaught and media blitz.

Meanwhile, these allegations have not been substantiated, but they raise concerns about the integrity of the media and the political process in South Africa. It is important to be aware of these attempts to influence public opinion and to critically evaluate the information that we consume.

The allegations that there are deliberate attempts to tarnish Paul Mashatile’s image are serious and should be investigated. If these allegations are true, it would be a serious threat to the integrity of the media and the political process in South Africa.
