Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the traditional prime minister of the Zulu monarchy, has expressed concerns about external forces attempting to poison King Misuzulu KaZwelithini. He emphasized the need for South Africans to pray for the king’s safety. These revelations indicate that the power struggle for the throne within the Zulu kingdom is far from resolved, with several contentious issues still unresolved.
Prince Buthelezi has deemed it dangerous for King Misuzulu to reside outside the Royal palace. He revealed that there are individuals from outside trying to harm the king, fearing that he may meet the same fate as his late father, King Zwelithini. The reasons behind the king’s absence from the palace, where he is meant to sit on his throne, remain unclear. Currently, he is residing in a mansion located north of Durban.
Recently, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi met with members of the royal families, and they collectively agreed that the king should return to the palace to fulfill his specific duties. However, critics argue that perhaps King Misuzulu KaZwelithini feels safer outside the royal palace, rather than inside it. He may have reservations about trusting those who surround him, particularly within the palace.
The late King Goodwill Zwelithini and his mother both died under mysterious circumstances while residing in the royal palace. Given these circumstances, it is understandable that the king has chosen to distance himself and live in a secluded location where he can trust those around him.
Many individuals responding to this issue have stated that King Misuzulu KaZwelithini will be safer outside the royal palace, as they believe some close family members living in the palace want him to leave. They perceive Prince Mangosuthu as exerting significant influence over the king, advising against his residence in the palace.
