The SANCO KwaZulu-Natal structure that was elected in January this year and chaired by former President of the Republic of South Africa and African National Congress Jacob Zuma has been disbanded.
This structure was not blessed by the national committee since there were news that it was unlawful elected and there was another similar structure in existence.
Now it has been reported that it had been replaced with an interim committee. This is as the civic organisation is rebuilding itself using interim structures at all levels.
The former president of the Republic of South Africa and African National Congress Jacob Zuma is the new Provincial Convener and his deputy is Lawrence Dube (Vryheid Councillor), the president Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa’s man who challenged the African National Congress KwaZulu-Natal 2015 elective conference in court and won. Unfortunately the Former provincial Treasurer, Thulani Gamede has been left out.
The SA Native Civic Organisation’s (Sanco’s) attempt to get its house in order and get readmitted to the ANC-led alliance has hit the first hurdle.
