South African political leaders are often criticized for living lavish lifestyles while most South Africans are struggling in this economy, and a lot of South African political leaders are often criticized for their notorious love of luxurious and expensive fashion items, and their love of luxurious and expensive cars, even the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu was criticized for his alleged love of luxurious and expensive fashion items and cars.

Floyd Shivambu was criticized by a lot of South Africans on social media site Twitter after a picture was posted showing him allegedly wearing sneakers that allegedly cost around R72000, and the picture also shows Floyd Shivambu standing to his car that allegedly costs around R1.5 Million, but other South Africans on Twitter have defended Floyd Shivambu by saying that he has the right to buy whatever he wants with his hard earned money.
