Eastern Cape premier, Oscar Mabuyane has dragged president Cyril Ramaphosa and the Special Investigating Unit to court over the allegations in which he is implicated in.

Mabuyane has been facing numerous allegations of corruption and fraud. In the recent allegations, it emerged that he is one of the politicians who obtained his academic qualifications fraudulently at Fort Hare University.

Now the ANC heavyweight is taking this matter to court in an attempt to clear his name. Critics argued that the writing is now on the wall that the centre is not holding within the African National Congress.

Oscar Mabuyane is one of the people who rallied behind president Cyril Ramaphosa’s second term. It seems now that his allegations have been exposed, he feels that not even Ramaphosa can protect him, and wants to drag him to court.

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane is taking the president and SIU to court to stop Fort Hare investigation in which his name is implicated. He has since denied the allegations, he claims this is an attempt to jeopardise his political career.

Critics have shared their opinions concerning this matter, with many expressing shock at how things are turning out amongst those ANC comrades who were once Ramaphosa’s loyalists.

“Very interesting developments. There is something I am reading behind the two actions, decision to investigate the allegations, and the legal action aimed at halting the investigation,” some said.

“At one point, these politicians need to take us seriously. Because of what? And he claims he is innocent. So why not let the investigation go through if you know you will not be implicated in anything,” others are of the opinion that Oscar Mabuyane might be trying to hide something.

“Is he not in Ramaphosa’s camp or have things changed between them? Interesting times.”
