Three ANC members have left South Africans tongue tied after they tried to solicit an amount of R600k from the suspended Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

It is alleged that the ANC comrades got in contact with advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane seeking that amount, and promised her that they would make her impeachment inquiry disappear.

This matter is not only shocking, but shows that what advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane has been stating all along that this impeachment inquiry is part of a witch-hunt is becoming true.

If these ANC comrades had surety that they could make the section 194 inquiry against Mkhwebane disappear without any consequences, what more are they capable of?

A former cabinet minister is said to be the one who allegedly handled the bribe negotiations and left behind a trail of evidence including incriminating WhatsApp messages.

The matter is now with the police who are investigating. What is known at the moment is that there are ANC comrades involved, but their names have not been revealed.

Social critics were send furiously typing saying this is exactly how most ANC comrades operate. Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane did not suspend herself, she does not deserve to be getting this type of treatment.

“Anything is possible in this country. So they are dragging that useless inquiry hoping to make some money off a defendant? This is beyond sad,” said a social critic.

“Not shocking at all when it comes to that party…plus chances are none of the members facing jail time. It’s always like that.”

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane, recently acknowledged that certain people in positions of power were hellbent on firing her, but insisted she would finish her term. In October this year, Mkhwebane will be exiting as her term ends. It is just sad that she will have to exit in that manner.

ANC veteran, Tony Yengeni reacting to the exposé of ANC members who tried to solicit money from Mkhwebane, said this is massive and should be dealt with decisively.
