A lady has applied for two days leave at work because she is graduating on Wednesday and needs to attend. She told her boss about the need to take Tuesday so that she would be able to prepare herself. “I sent her my invitation letter for confirmation of dates, and this lady declined. I guess I am jobless as of today.”
It was not a good way for her to receive the news that she would not attend her graduation. Maybe if she could not take two days of was a better response, and what was amazing is that she was able to make them aware of it in time.
What is important is to plan ahead, and in those two days, they would also get a chance to cover for her at work. It also says a lot about what will happen in the future.
Does it come as a surprise to her that she should be looking for another job elsewhere? It is not the same as someone who will decide in the morning not to go to work without providing a notice.
She has not revealed where she is working because it could expose her to her place of work. It would become an attack on her work if those in charge did not give her two days off.
How are you going to plan anything in the future with the company and become a happy employee? She could also become an important employee who gets to work without any regrets. But she is certain to attend her graduation, even though it could mean losing her job.
From David Mayer: “Depending on how you see it, there’s more than just death and taxes on the short list of things life throws at pretty much everybody.
There’s also unfairness (which cynics might even see as the umbrella term for both death and taxes), as many a parent has informed a 5-year-old who’s too young to know what taxes are but has no trouble grasping what’s not fair.”
“But simply accepting that life isn’t fair doesn’t mean we respond to its injustices with perfect equanimity–especially where our careers are concerned. Maybe you’ve been passed up for a promotion you deserved. Or management made a big decision impacting your job without you having a say. Maybe you were just disrespected by a colleague.”
I applied for 2 days leave, I’m graduating on Wednesday. I told my boss I need Tuesday too for doing my stuff, I sent her my invitation letter for confirmation of dates and this lady declined?😂😂😂😂
