Malesela Teffo who was disbarred from practising, and also struck off the roll in the Senzo Meyiwa case, has suffered another humiliation after he was forced out of court today.
Police officers were instructed by judge Tshifhiwa Maumela to escort Malesela Teffo out of the court and never allow him inside anymore moving forward. On Wednesday, Teffo also had a heated exchange with the judge when he attempted to address the court.
This Senzo Meyiwa trial has left many with a bitter taste in their mouths who feel that these theatrics that are happening, are not helping the family of the killed footballer to get justice. It seems people are now pushing their personal interests and not for the sake of justice.
Social critics argued that it also seems Malesela Teffo has personal issues with judge Tshifhiwa Maumela. The way these two have been going back and forth is a bad display of how legal personnel must conduct themselves.
Judge Maumela is today handing down the judgment on the matter before the court concerning whether or not the next witness should testify on camera. This witness is one of the people who were inside the house with Senzo Meyiwa when he was shot and later died.
The witness expressed concern that if she testifies on camera, her testimony will be criticised in the public domain. Lawyers of the accused, however are of the opinion that this matter is of public concern, and people want to know what happened on the day Senzo Meyiwa was killed.
Judge Maumela said the witness is a known personality, and that’s why she fears to testify on camera in this case. He however seemed a bit angry about Malesela Teffo’s behaviour of wanting to address the court.
“It is for that reason that not everyone who came be in the court room, that efforts ought to be done towards imposing lesser rather greater restrictions for those interested in following proceedings,” he said
