Reports have emerged of a group of foreigners from Ethiopia, Somalia, and Nigeria who have allegedly threatened to take over South Africa by force. The group is said to have issued violent threats against South Africans, sparking fears of renewed xenophobic attacks in the country.

According to eyewitness accounts, the foreigners have been seen in various townships across the country, including Alexandra, Diepsloot, and Tembisa, where they have reportedly been intimidating and threatening locals.

The South African government has condemned the threats and has vowed to take decisive action against anyone found to be inciting violence or engaging in criminal activities. The Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, has urged South Africans to remain calm and not to take the law into their own hands.

Xenophobia has been a long-standing issue in South Africa, with tensions between locals and foreign nationals often boiling over into violence. In 2019, the country was rocked by a wave of xenophobic attacks that left several people dead and thousands displaced.

The government has assured South Africans that it will do everything in its power to prevent a repeat of the 2019 attacks and has called on all communities to work together to promote peace and tolerance.
